According to Pakistan news and media reports, the former Pakistan prime minister Islamabad and his governance suffered a great shock after the general election held in the country. More so among the stalwarts was Sirajul Haq, and Jamat-i-Islami who also went down in the election.

According to the former prime minister, the preparation made was a guarantee of a win to the leadership. This was seen after a huge crowd behind the prime minister and his government. Nevertheless, the general election turned out as unexpected. This was followed by the defeat of nearly half of the people in power.

From the reports, the supreme court disqualified Sharif making Abbasi to resume the premiership seat. Nevertheless, Sharif contested as a member of parliament for the Rawalpindi constituency. Nawaz Sharif, being a native in Rawalpindi decided to contest for the NA-57 as a PML-N participant. Nevertheless, Nawaz Sharif previously contested for NA-53 to Murree.

However, according to the general election results, Nawaz Sharif lost in both seats. According to Pakistan government history, the NA-57 seat is considered the most secure seat. This was declared after Abbasi’s father claimed the title for the PML-N in five consecutive years i.e. from 1990 to 2013. From the records, Abbasi’s father only lost one time in 2002 elections.

Apart from Abbasi’s father, chief Shehbaz Sharif who contested for three seats lost the seats to Lahore, Karachi, and Swat respectively. This was a hard blow to Shehbaz Sharif. Nevertheless, other top politicians who lost in the election are Maulana Fazlur who lost the MMA presidential seat to upcoming politicians.

Another politician is Khawaja Saad who contested for the PML-N sit lost the seat to PTI chairman. Meanwhile, the former chief minister Arbab Rahim lost his seat to the PPP in Omerkot. Nevertheless, Asfandyar Wali who is the grandson to Ghaffar Khan lost the NA-24 seat to the PTI candidate Mr. Fazal Khan.
